Jacqueline has been a senior associate with Refalo & Zammit Pace Advocates (a predecessor firm of Refalo Advocates) since 2009 and has practiced as an advocate for 20 years. Her main areas of practice include civil and commercial law with a focus on civil litigation, including proceedings before the Rent Regulation Board, Land Arbitration Board and the Family Court. Her experience includes advising private and corporate clients on a broad range of real estate transactions, including property acquisitions, sales, divisions, leases and real estate security. She has advised a local bank in connection with the granting of facilities and the taking of security for over ten years between 2002 and 2013, during which time she also advised on the drafting of loan and overdraft contracts.
In 2009 Jacqueline was appointed for a two-year term, as Chairperson of the first Adoption Board set up by virtue of the Adoption Administration Act (Act IV of 2008). This Act came into force on the 1st of May 2008 and therefore her role included the drafting of new policies, forms and procedures for the proper fulfilment of the functions of the Board in line with the new provisions laid down by this Act.
Educational Achievements
Jacqueline graduated Bachelor of Laws from the University of Malta in 1996. She obtained the Diploma of Notary Public in 1997 and graduated Doctor of Laws in 1999. She obtained her warrant to practice as an advocate in 2000.
